Jeesh Tiffany you're gone a whole week and you come back with
more dang sunset pictures?
Yeah well it's not my fault! It's YOUR fault. You're an enabler with your
"ooh pretty sky" comments. Shame on you for contributing to
my illness. :-)
Some quick nerdly notes before I go to bed:
1. The first two pictures were taken through the narrow cracks between
fence posts. If you look closely at the top one, you can see the dark
line in the middle where light waves actually cancel each other out. Hehe
I went to look for a link to back up my art major physics knowledge, and
I found
this incredibly sexist and hilarious explanation of light interference
patterns.
2. And for the bottom two pictures, if you're a photo nerd you might
be interested to know that I exposed the sky separately from the rest
of the photo in order to show the detail of the fence and the houses.
Otherwise, the pictures would have been black silhouettes against this
sky.
So first I created a duplicate layer of the entire scene. On that layer
I did a massive curves adjustment, bringing the darks way, way up. It's
amazing how much detail was really there! Then I erased the sky from that
layer, and brought this layer down to like 30% opacity so it didn't look
completely fake.
If you read all of that, congratulations, you're officially a dork.
