No really. For real?

In one week – one little week – we’ll own a house. Nicolaus has no clue. He’s playing with a cardboard box and pushing buttons on an unplugged telephone.

how did all this tequila get into my Crystal Light?

I have decided that one of the main cornerstones of my approach to being the best parent and wife that I can be will be drinking a little bit of alcohol every single night.

Baby from another planet.

He understands things. It’s spooky. He listens to everything with big, round eyes. He points to what he wants and when you ask him “Where is suchandsuch?” he stretches out his whole arm and points to it. He’ll identify people, things, shapes… about 25 different words now. He’ll point to a car as opposed to a truck (SUVs are cars it seems). And ballooooons! He loves ballons. And bananas. And OooooohH water. He even says something that sounds sort of like water. I’m 75% sure he says water.

The creepiest thing is when he points to things that we don’t remember teaching him. Like his cardboard box. Or when you ask where someone is who isn’t here, he points to the front door.

I’m tired and stressed so I know I’m not explaining this the best way but what I’m trying to say is, he understands things. And it’s creepy.

Just so you can get some rest…

Six unfortunate things about the house:
* no dishwasher
* 1 tiny bathroom
* no real dining area to speak of
* washer and dryer are in the kitchen
* very little inside storage space
* Kevin needs to fix a lot of little things

Six good things:
* The yard kicks ass
* The wood floors kick ass
* Lotsa windows = plenty of light
* The neighborhood is cute
* Pier and beam foundation (such a warm sound)
* OMG HOUSE!!!

Now a few important things to keep in mind about the photos:
1. These people are in the middle of moving, so there’s crap everywhere
2. The country-smhuntry decor will soon be gone (although I wouldn’t complain if they accidentally left a few of their antiques behind)
3. I’m an idiot and forgot to take a picture of the front from far enough back so you could see the giant pecan trees in the front yard. The backyard has some too. Anyone want some pecans? :-)
4. They’re all blurry. I was holding Nicolaus in one hand and taking pictures with the other so like give me a break okay?

Okay ready? Here they are http://www.electricboogaloo.net/house/
