State of the Suckfest Address

The thing that snored and hugged my arm all night.

No vomit today. Nicolaus’ stomach is hurting off and on, but he’s in a great mood and isn’t throwing up so it’s good.

No baby screaming. Some fussing, but the break from the screaming is wonderful.

Kevin unloaded the dishwasher and did a load of laundry. I love him.

I screwed up and accidentally posted the credit card payment to the wrong credit card, causing exciting late fees and a higher monthly payment and reminding Kevin once again that when you say the phrase “My wife is awesome.” that just means that she inspires awe. Not necessarily in a good way.

So the month is half over and I’m not sure but it feels like maybe this blog has done nothing but bitch since before Christmas which I’m sure sucks for you. But! At least I’m not resposible for managing your finances. Or cooking your dinner. Or cleaning your house or putting away your laundry. So be joyful or whatever!

The boys are running up and down the length of the house making impressive siren noises. They are animal rescuers, and Mouse is in need of heroic intervention “of hunger and thirst”. I don’t know, that’s just what I was told. WooerwooerwoooerwoooooerWOOOOer!! A lot of times this level of noise would feel like chaos but it’s actually nice. They’re getting along, they’re not crying, not barfing, and not raising my interest rate to prime plus 10%. So I guess I love them, too.

I’m glad they’re feeling better. Noisy, but better. How’s Mouse taking the rescuing?

  2. Squirl Says:

I forgot to say that I love that picture.

  3. The Dude Says:

That is an awesome picture indeed. If I may be a grammar/punctuation geek/nerd for a moment; it should read Nicolaus’s not Nicolaus’. I know it seems counter-intuitive but it is the correct way to indicate possesion with proper names that end in ’s’.

  4. electric boogaloo Says:

Well it’s about TIME I got that straight! Usually I just avoid the situation by saying “such and such belonged to Nicolaus” which is lame and awful limiting and man I wish I’d thought of this before naming my kid.

  5. KL Says:

How perfect is that picture? :-)

  6. Bucky Four-Eyes Says:

I thought words that ended with an “s” could be possessive-ized by just adding a ‘ at the end.

    From the anal grammar girl.
