I have a little boy who wants to a princess who builds castles and train layouts. I'm relieved to see I'm not the only parent letting them run with it: http://hhhouse.blogspot.com/2008/06/little-landscaping.html

I was directed here by Jen of Volatile Gas World after she read my recent post about buying my son a doll. My partner and I were both laughing hard at the stories of your sons in this post. Thank you!

Well, let's see, you have a giant fairy and a campy doll. Then there are weapons and mass destruction. I think you have it all covered from one end to the other. :-)

I think it's marvelous that you don't cramp your boys' style with artificial gender roles. They are first, and foremost, human beings. Even Kinsey knew that male/female isn't black and white, it's a sliding scale.

I clicked over to here from Julia's Here There Be Hippogriffs, and oh. my.
I haven't laughed so hard first thing in the morning in a very long time. Thank you so much. I adore the fact that you're saving that tidbit from the playground, I wish my parents had held on to more things like that to share with me.

Oh my gosh! Sounds just like my son! He even calls all pink colors purple, so his favorite color is purple. He loves wearing fairy wings, and unicorns. And destroying everything. And the history of weapons. We have many toy boxes -- one is called the weapon box. He never liked stuffed animals much, unless they were something weird, like a bug. But he still doesn't carry them around like his sister does (she loves puppies and horses and babies and hearts and also likes stabbing people with swords.)
